Ever since Neon Genesis Evangelion was shown in Australia [late 1998], I was quickly became captivated by it, and thus I started collecting NG Evangelion stuff. I know the show had been released almost more than two years ago and I know there is already a movie about it already - here in Australia, we get international shows [unless American] pretty late. So, my collection is late to get started but nevertheless, it's better late than never.

Therefore I present you a small collection of images I have collected about the show and a short summary of what is the show about. Keep in mind though, my collection is ever growing, so this might continue on over to my next web site. [Which might include also Teknoman and Macross I.]

The Story of NEON GENESIS EVANGELION began in the year 2000 AD A giant Comet crash into Antarctica. At the same time, a mysterious alien race sent a message claiming that they were under the orders of God and that they had sent an "Angel" to the human race. It was soon revealed that the object that had crashed in Antarctica was a gigantic, living organism. It stayed inactive for a brief period of time and then self- destructed, blowing Antarctica to bits. The heat given off by the explosion was so intense that the ice of the entire continent melted, provoking floods and destruction of biblical proportions across the surface of the planet. The Angels warned that they would return to see if the humans had learned and, for 15 years, the human race prepared for their return, not knowing what they had done wrong. And indeed, the Angels did return...

During these 15 years, an organisation, called NERV, was formed to protect Terra and was given nearly unlimited funds to create Anti-Angel weapons. Of all the weapons they came up with, the most powerful was the Human Shaped Final Battle Weapon, code named EVANGELION (EVA.), giant cyborgs which were the fruit of the Angel technology captured fifteen years ago.

When the TV series begins, there are only 3 Evangelion ready: EVA-00, EVA-01 and EVA-02. Each of these monstrous creatures (they are not really robots, as many of their internal parts are biological) is electrically powered via a power cable plugged on its back and needs a pilot to synchronise with in order to tap the EVA units tremendous full power. One of the most peculiar detail is that the pilot MUST be a 14 year old kid (for some reason they have to be born after the second impact) if the synchronisation is to be successful.

These pilots are very special people and to find them, Gendo Ikari, the top commander of NERV and director of the mysterious "Human Aid Project", established, in 2001 A.D, a program code named "Marduke". To date (2015 A.D), that program had only yielded three pilots, all of them 14 years old: Rei Ayanami (EVA-00), Soryu Asuka Langley (EVA-02) and Shinji Ikari (EVA-01), Gendo's own son!
